Scuba Diving at Unawatuna

Among a variety of watersports, surfing is what newbies and advanced surfers are looking for. And we provide! Our experienced teachers will let you fly on the waves right after the first lesson!
You probably know that there are not a lot chances to get the wave, because they are regular a bit further north on Cocoa, for example. However, this is even more safe for newbies to get lessons here, at Palmeria Hotel’s beach. We also offer private and group lessons – you can clarify which one of the most suitable for you right after arriving to our resort. The actual lesson is 1,5 hours – 15 minutes of actual surfing and the rest is for learning. We’ll provide you with a towel, sunscreen, water and a batching suite.

Hiyare Rain-forest & Reservoir

The Hiyare Reservoir is a natural reservoir in the district of Galle, Sri Lanka . This reservoir is a major source of drinking water to the city of Galle .
The catchment zone of the reservoir consists of about 600 acres of a rather well preserved lowland rain forest and its conservation is therefore of significance.Further, Mahadola, which is a major stream that enriches the river, originates here.

Day Trip To Galle Fort

The Galle Fort, in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 16th century from 1649 on-wards.
It is a historical, archaeological and architectural heritage monument, which even after more than 423 years maintains a polished appearance, due to extensive reconstruction work done by Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka. UNESCO declared the Galle Dutch Fort as a world heritage site.

The latest discovered spot on earth to watch the largest mammal on earth the “whale”. on their long journeys to the Australian seas where they are breeding they pass very close to the beaches of Mirissa and Dondra head further down south.
Unlike in other parts of the world where one can observe a single species, but at Mirissa you can observe several including the Blue Whale, Sperm Whale etc.
